DraftKings, Flutter Look to Jump Into Prediction Markets -- Market Talk

1302 ET - Sports-betting platforms want more skin in prediction markets. DraftKings and Flutter are actively preparing potential prediction market offerings in states where regular sports betting isn't legal or is highly taxed, Oppenheimer analyst Jed Kelly says. While the platforms are focused on sports contracts now, Kelly believes DraftKings and Flutter could eventually offer geopolitical event contracts on their platforms. Purchasing a prediction markets operator, rather than working with a third party, would help fast-track the companies' license approval process with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, while providing an opportunity to leverage odds and risk management and accelerate product iterations, Kelly says.
