Prospect Resources (ASX:PSC) said metallurgical test work on transition samples from the Nyungu Central deposit and fresh samples from the Kabikupa deposit at the Mumbezhi copper project in Zambia showed that copper ores can be treated using simple, low-cost processing methods, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.

High-grade copper concentrates with strong recoveries have now been produced from several tested mineralized zones, the firm said. The standard flotation process was effective for both Nyungu Central and Kabikupa samples.

Preliminary gold values in Nyungu Central transition samples suggest scope for payable byproduct credits, it added.

The test work was completed by independent process consultants, Core Metallurgy.
