美团核心本地商业CEO王莆中日前接受电视台访问时回应外卖平台大战，指“我们不想卷，但不能不反击”。他提到2.5亿的日订单量中绝大部分是泡沫，并举例2018年美团与滴滴在无锡开战，当天无锡的日订单量涨了三倍。但一年后，美团以无锡订单与苏州、常州做对比，发现与没有打外卖战的城市相比，根本没有额外的增长。
他又以江苏宿迁为例，指在各大平台的补贴下，当地2个月的即时零售订单量涨了4倍，但当中绝大多数是泡沫。而当地面馆堂食一份18元人民币，外卖只需要6元人民币，他认为这种巨大的价格扭曲是不可持续的，亦很难为即时零售市场带来真正有价值的增量。
他又提到京东调整了超时20分钟免单策略，指当平台承诺超过若干时间免单，会有部分人选择高峰期下单，赌平台会超时，然后形成一种恶性循环，越超时越多单，越多单平台赔越多，他认为这是不可维系的。(ss/w)
