0917 GMT - South Korean talent agency HYBE, the label behind global K-pop boy band BTS, may be better positioned than its local peers to monetize the fan-engagement platform, Nomura analysts Angela Hong and Won Kang write in a note. The entertainment company has aggressively expanded its Weverse platform, with monthly active users surpassing 10 million and expected to continue growing, they say. The analysts see the platform integrating content, subscriptions, merchandise sales, commerce and livestreaming in a single stack. All seven BTS members have recently completed their mandatory military service in South Korea, raising hopes that they will reunite soon and perform as a group again after a multiyear hiatus.
