1301 ET - In its 2Q earnings call, Omnicom says it is developing its own AI agents to efficiently generate data-based ad campaigns. Chief Executive John Wren said the ad industry may have to move its compensation model away from hourly billing as AI tools drastically reduce the time required to build campaigns, but that big companies will invest any savings they get back into their marketing budgets. Companies like Google and Meta are developing AI tools to allow businesses to create and run ads quickly and cheaply, but the ad industry hopes large corporations will continue to demand data-driven expertise from ad companies even if smaller businesses turn to those automated tools from tech companies.
