Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. has entered into a partnership with Toyo Engineering Corporation, Nippon Steel Engineering Co., Ltd., and FullDepth Co., Ltd. for a significant project under the Japan Cabinet Office's AUV Demonstration Project. This joint initiative, titled "Demonstration Project for the Utilization of Autonomous Surface Vehicles and Remotely Operated Vehicles," focuses on the development of maintenance models for offshore wind power facilities. The collaboration aims to assess key technical challenges, explore data-driven operation and maintenance strategies, and develop revenue generation models for offshore wind power. OKI will contribute its expertise in infrastructure technologies, TOYO will manage the project, NSE will offer its knowledge in designing offshore wind facilities, and FullDepth will provide advanced inspection technologies. Together, they aim to create a comprehensive roadmap for the social implementation of marine robotics.
