内政部计划建立“加密货币存储和变现框架”，允许执法部门安全存储冻结的数字货币并出售。根据警方旗下采购公司 BlueLight Commercial 代表内政部发布的招标公告，英国政府还将提供合同运营一项集中化服务，负责持有和出售被扣押的加密货币。该合同价值高达 5370 万美元，有效期至少为四年，但该提案尚未收到可接受的投标。警方扣押数字资产和清理出售这些资产之间的时间通常很长。招标公告中表示：“资产扣押与法律程序结束（变现）之间的平均时间为 1 年以内，对于更复杂的案件，可能需要 3 至 4 年。”
