BUZZ-TSMC jumps after stellar second-quarter results

** Taipei-listed shares of TSMC 2330.TW opens more than 2% higher, a day after reporting record-breaking second quarter net profit that easily beat market expectations on Thursday

** Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC) is the world's main producer of advanced AI chips, whose major clients include Apple AAPL.O and Nvidia NVDA.O

** Benchmark Taiwan SE weighted Index .TWII up 1.5%

** TSMC's shares surged some 80% last year but have climbed just 7% for the year to date on worries about tariffs and unfavourable currency exchange rates
