July 17 - (The Insurer) – Tesla appointed Liberty General Insurance and Acko as preferred insurance partners for its entry into the Indian market, according to the Press Trust of India.
Mumbai-based Liberty said it has created customised protection plans for Tesla vehicles tailored to electric vehicle users in the country.
Acko said it would offer a fully digital process for Tesla owners, from policy purchase to claims.
"Tesla has revolutionised the automotive industry. Our ambition is to redefine how that innovation is protected," Acko general insurance managing director and CEO Animesh Das said, according to PTI.
Zurich Kotak General Insurance launched 'EV Protect,' an add-on cover for electric cars including Tesla models.
The company said the product would offer comprehensive protection aligned with the needs of EV users.
