1804 ET - Netflix's redesigned user interface was meant to reflect where its platform is today. Executives on the streaming service's 2Q investor call said the previous UI was designed for the Netflix of 10 years ago. The company has drastically evolved since, notably in areas including live events and games. Executives pointed to the fact that last week the platform for the first time held a concurrent pair of live events, a significant step up from its initial foray into live streams that were sometimes marred by glitches and lagging streams.
