Novonix (ASX:NVX) welcomed the US Department of Commerce's preliminary determination to impose antidumping tariffs of around 94% on anode active material (AAM), including synthetic and natural graphite imports from China, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.

The effective tariff rate for AAM is now 160%, including countervailing duty tariffs, US President Donald Trump's blanket tariffs on goods from China, and Section 301 tariffs implemented by the US Trade Representative last year, the filing said.

Shares rose nearly 16% in morning trade Friday.
