Meta Platforms (META) said Friday that it will not sign the European Commission's new Code of Practice for general-purpose AI models.
The company's chief global affairs officer, Joel Kaplan, said in a LinkedIn post that the code introduces legal uncertainties for model developers and includes measures that go "far beyond the scope of the AI Act."
"We have carefully reviewed the European Commission's Code of Practice for general-purpose AI (GPAI) models and Meta won't be signing it," Kaplan said.
