Alibaba Group Holding's (BABA) AliExpress, TikTok and WeChat are facing data privacy complaints from Austrian advocacy group noyb, which alleged Thursday that the companies did not comply with European Union law requiring disclosure of users' personal data.

The companies have failed to comply with access requests under Article 15 of the EU's General Data Protection Regulation, deterring users from exercising their right to privacy, noyb said.

When users requested their personal data, "TikTok only provided part of the complainant's data in an unstructured form that was impossible to understand. AliExpress provided a broken file that could be opened only once," noyb said. WeChat "just completely ignored" the complainant's request.

Alibaba, TikTok and WeChat-owner Tencent did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.

Alibaba shares were down 1% in recent premarket activity.
