1218 ET - Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon says the global economy and market backdrop has been resilient in the face of recent tariff-related turmoil, but that "much remains uncertain." Geopolitical concerns have intensified in many regions, most significantly in the Middle East, he says on a call with analysts. A number of agreements between the U.S. and trading partners targeted by the Trump administration have yet to materialize, the CEO says. And the ultimate impact that tariffs have on growth is still unknown, he says. "There's a sense that things are moving forward constructively, but developments rarely unfold in a straight line," Solomon says. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
