Marriott International has announced the completion of its acquisition of the lifestyle brand citizenM. This strategic move allows Marriott to expand its global lifestyle offerings and enhance its select-service portfolio. The acquisition includes citizenM's current global portfolio of 37 hotels, totaling 8,789 rooms, across more than 20 cities in the U.S., Europe, and Asia Pacific, as well as a pipeline of two additional hotels. Marriott will integrate citizenM into its systems and platforms, with the brand expected to join the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program later this year. Anthony Capuano, President and CEO of Marriott International, highlighted the acquisition as an opportunity to blend technology with hospitality and accelerate citizenM's global reach.
