D.R. Horton Sees Incentive Costs Increasing in F4Q -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Jul 23, 2025

1335 ET - D.R. Horton doesn't see an end to buyer-friendly incentives coming soon. "Despite the volatility and uncertainty of the current economic environment, we expect our sales incentives to remain elevated and increased further during the fourth quarter," CEO Paul Romanowski says on an analyst call. Home builders' reliance on incentives has garnered particular attention from Wall Street given their impact on gross margins. D.R. Horton says it expects home sales gross margin to be lower sequentially in F4Q as incentive levels rise. Shares jump 15% following better-than-expected F3Q results.
