Nikkei Up 1.9%, Led by Auto Stocks -- Market Talk

0017 GMT - Japanese stocks are higher in early trade after President Trump said the U.S. reached a trade deal with Japan. Auto stocks are leading the gains. Toyota Motor is up 6.9%, Honda Motor gains 7.2% and Nissan Motor is 5.9% higher. Trump said the U.S. would impose tariffs of 15% on goods from Japan. USD/JPY is at 146.71, compared with 147.84 as of Tuesday's Tokyo stock market close. Investors are closely watching any details of the trade agreement.
