BYD (HKG:1211, SHE:002594) is looking to release its first car assembled in the country by July or August 2026, Reuters reported Thursday, citing a company executive.
The Chinese electric car maker has been building a plant since April near Karachi together with Mega Motor, a subsdiiary of Pakistani utility firm Hub Power, the report said, citing BYD Pakistan Vice President of Sales and Strategy Danish Khaliq.
The facility will have an initial capacity of 25,000 vehicles yearly on a double shift, the report said, citing Khaliq.
