Nvidia Is Significantly Dependent On OpenAI -- Market Talk
Dow Jones

1531 ET - The world's most valuable company is largely dependent on just one customer. A significant portion of Nvidia's chip sales come from developers of AI models and above all, OpenAI, says UBS analyst Kirk Keirstead in a media roundtable. That creates risk for the whole AI industry that investors should be aware of even given the huge upside. "It creates a little bit of risk that the AI trade and Nvidia's market cap and Oracle and Microsoft are dependent on the actions of a single tech company," Keirstead says. "That feels like a bet that a lot of investors are willing to make given the tremendous apparent success of OpenAI to date." (nicholas.miller@wsj.com)
