据印度经济时报(The Economic Times)报导，知情人士表示，由于镝短缺，鸿海在印度泰伦加纳邦(Telangana)工厂的苹果AirPods生产受到阻碍。镝短缺是中国限制稀土金属出口的直接结果。
这家鸿腾精密科技$(FIT)$旗下的工厂位于距海德拉巴45公里的Kongara Kalan。在香港上市的FIT是鸿海科技集团（Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn)）的核心子公司。
这家苹果供应商说，并未受到干扰。该公司自去年4月开始在这家印度工厂生产AirPods，这是苹果将制造业从中国转移以实现多元化的更广泛战略的一部分。
