7月24日，据报道，苹果公司正作最后努力，引用最高法院关于权限的最新裁决，试图推翻《堡垒之夜》游戏案件中的惩罚性反导向禁令。此前苹果被指控违反禁令后，在美国被迫调整App Store，取消了App外部连接的27%抽佣及各种限制措施。苹果指出法官Yvonne Gonzalez Rodgers的禁令“根本不公平”，认为法院做出覆盖所有美国开发者的决定超出了第9巡回法庭的权限，寻求推翻民事藐视法庭命令。不过，多位律师认为苹果的论点在法律上站不住脚。如果苹果上诉成功，Epic的游戏和应用依然支持外部连接且不会被抽佣，但其他游戏或应用则不会有此待遇。
