KKR (KKR) is the subject of a formal investigation by the European Commission related to whether the firm provided incorrect or misleading information regarding its acquisition of NetCo in 2024, the commission said Thursday.
In May 2024, the commission unconditionally cleared the acquisition, concluding that the transaction would not raise competition concerns in the European Economic Area, according to the statement.
"Our merger control rules require that merging parties disclose full and accurate information to the Commission when assessing their deal," Teresa Ribera, Executive Vice-President for Clean, Just and Competitive Transition at the commission, said.
KKR did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
