ChainCatcher 消息，据 Protos 报道，两名被指控绑架并折磨比特币交易员以获取其密钥的嫌疑人 John Woeltz 和 William Duplessie 已被纽约法院批准保释。两人被控 12 项罪名，均不认罪，每人以 100 万美元的保证金获释，并将接受电子监控，同时被要求交出护照。
嫌疑人 Woeltz 被称为“肯塔基州的加密之王”，他们被控在 Woeltz 的苏豪区豪宅中绑架一名意大利加密交易员，并对其实施了包括用枪威胁、电击棒和链锯攻击以及浇酒点燃等酷刑。据称，两人还威胁要杀死受害者的家人。
尽管检方称有证据显示两人曾有类似行为，但法官 Gregory Carro 认为存在诸多可信度问题，决定在继续审查证据的同时批准保释。
