智通财经APP获悉，百时美施贵宝(BMY.US)的首席医疗官在公司任职六年后辞职，这一消息令人意外，因为这家制药公司正急于寻找下一个畅销产品以扭转业绩下滑的局面。百时美施贵宝周五发布声明称，负责公司新药研发的Samit Hirawat将于8月1日离职，并在11月前继续担任公司的顾问。
该公司表示，Hirawat离职是为了寻求新的发展机遇。曾任阿斯利康(AZN.US)首席医疗官并领导抗癌药物研发的Cristian Massacesi将接替他的职位。
百时美施贵宝正押注于一系列新药，以弥补其老牌畅销药物的销量逐渐下滑。该公司最畅销的癌症免疫疗法药物Opdivo预计将在2030年前面临定价压力，而其血液稀释剂Eliquis将在2028年面临仿制药的竞争。
今年晚些时候，该公司将研究用于治疗精神分裂症的药物Cobenfy是否可以改善阿尔茨海默病的症状。这一结果可能会带来数十亿美元的潜在收益。
百时美施贵宝还计划在2027年前削减约35亿美元的开支，其中包括裁员2000多人并放弃十几种正在研发的药物。
