央视记者当地时间7月24日获悉，美国联邦航空管理局（FAA）局长贝德福德当天表示，此前印度航空一架波音787客机坠毁的致命事故，似乎并非由机械故障或燃油控制装置意外移动造成。

贝德福德称，FAA员工已经将燃油控制装置拆下进行测试，并派检查员登机进行检查。他们非常确信，这不是燃油控制装置意外操作造成的问题。

当地时间6月12日下午，一架从印度飞往英国的印度航空公司波音787-8型客机在印度古吉拉特邦艾哈迈达巴德机场起飞后不久坠毁。

印度航空事故调查局7月12日披露了印度航空波音787-8型客机坠毁事故的初步调查结果。报告显示，坠机前一刻发动机燃料供应被切断。详细数据显示，涉事客机燃料供应被切断的持续时间大约为10秒，随后燃料供应开关被调整至开启状态，但飞机此时已无法获得足够动力立即停止下降恢复爬升。此外，涉事客机两台发动机的燃料供应开关相继关闭的相互间隔时间约为1秒。
