0926 GMT - China's steady and normalized game-approval process will likely support healthy development in the game industry, Citi analysts say in a research note. China's game regulator approved 134 domestic and imported games in July. Tencent continues to expand its footprint in shooting games through the approval of "The Finals," while NetEase obtained approval to bring "Diablo IV" and "Marvel Mystic Mayhem" into the Chinese market. Approvals in July paled in comparison to June, as fewer imported titles and casual games received approval, they say. However, Citi still expects total game approvals to reach 1,500-1,700 in 2025, comprising 1,400-1,600 domestic and 90-110 imported games. (sherry.qin@wsj.com)
