Hexagon Agility, a division of Hexagon Composites and a global leader in natural gas fuel systems, has secured an order for fuel systems from a prominent American consumer goods manufacturer. This order involves 60 trucks powered by Cummins' new X15N engine, following a successful six-month pilot of these natural gas trucks. The new fleet, consisting of day cab and sleeper trucks, is projected to cover over 2.2 million miles annually. By converting to renewable natural gas, the manufacturer anticipates fuel savings of up to USD 1.50 per diesel gallon equivalent and a reduction in emissions by more than 90% compared to traditional diesel vehicles. This environmental benefit is comparable to planting over 13,000 acres of forest each year. Ian MacDonald, Head of Fuel Systems for Hexagon Agility, expressed excitement over the scaling of this deployment, highlighting the performance, reliability, and cost advantages that make natural gas trucks a suitable choice for distribution and long-haul heavy-duty segments.
