Strickland Metals (ASX:STK) said that preliminary metallurgical test work results for bulk samples from the Gradina deposit at its Rogozna gold-base metals project in Serbia demonstrated that recoveries of up to 97.9% gold were achieved, with average recoveries of 89.9% gold using standard industry flotation methods, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.

The test work was designed to confirm the likely flowsheet and potential metal recoveries. Further metallurgical test work on the deposit will focus on improving concentrate grades via cleaning for those samples that returned lower-grade gold-pyrite, as well as gaining a detailed understanding of the likely life of mine combined gold-pyrite concentrate specifications.

Four diamond drilling rigs are working at the deposit to expand known gold mineralization to support a maiden mineral resource estimate, targeted for delivery later this year.
