Deckers Starts Shoe Price Hikes At $5 -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Jul 25

1747 ET - Deckers Outdoor has started raising prices on some of its shoes by around $5. The company started implementing price hikes on July 1 to offset the cost of tariffs and is planning to add more increases throughout the year. "We've been selective and staggered in our approach," CEO Stefano Caroti told analysts during a call, adding that the company doesn't want to raise prices for kids' shoes. Management is also considering hiking prices for not-yet-launched models, as well as existing ones. Caroti said the company would continue monitoring tariffs and altering its pricing plan as the situation evolves. Shares rise 8.7% after the bell. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
