Amazon (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google, Amazon.com-backed Anthropic and Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI are among companies that committed to support the Trump administration's plan to modernize US healthcare through improved digital access and data sharing, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services said Wednesday.
The initiative promotes a CMS Interoperability Framework and tools like artificial intelligence assistants, digital check-ins, and chronic disease apps, the federal agency said.
21 networks pledged to meet CMS interoperability standards, 11 health systems and seven EHR providers committed to supporting the plan, and 30 companies vowed to deliver real health outcomes using secure digital identity tools to access medical records, according to the agency.
Over 60 companies have committed to delivering results by early 2026, with new apps expected to assist with diabetes and obesity management, offer AI-powered assistance for scheduling and symptoms, and replace paper intake forms with digital check-in, the agency said.
Amazon, Apple, Google, Anthropic and OpenAI didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
