JetBlue Says Demand Stabilized Then Accelerated in 2Q -- Market Talk

1124 ET - Shaky air travel demand earlier in the year, which sent airlines spiraling around the time of their 1Q reports, stabilized entering 2Q and then accelerated as the quarter progressed, JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty says on a call with analysts. Like with 1Q, bookings in 2Q had strong peaks and relatively weaker troughs, President Marty St. George says. But the number of close-in bookings, or ones made within 14 days of travel, accelerated throughout 2Q, particularly during peak travel times and in June, he says. JetBlue's 3Q guidance implies continued improvements in demand and unit revenue heading into the back half of the year, St. George says. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
