Gen Z Squeeze May Hit Fast-Casual; Sweet Green Most At Risk -- Market Talk

1432 ET - As Generation Z faces increases in unemployment and a pick-up in student debt repayments, TD Cowen analysts are monitoring the age group's spending on fast casual restaurants. Proprietary survey data suggest Gen Z most frequently visits Cava, Sweetgreen, Dutch Bros and Wingstop, the analysts said, meaning the chains could potentially see a greater impact from a Gen Z pullback on discretionary spending. Sweet Green is especially at risk given the chain's softest value perceptions compared to the other three, the analysts said. (natalie.weger@wsj.com; @NatalieWeger)
