HSBC (HSBC) has asked managing directors to return to the office at least four days a week beginning in October, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing a memo.

In office work, which refers mainly to work in the lender's offices or with customers, includes meeting other stakeholders and attending conferences, the report said, citing the memo.

The company didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.

Shares were up 1.2% in recent early trading.
