ON Semiconductor (ON) said Tuesday it is working with Nvidia (NVDA) to support the transition to 800 volts direct current power architectures, as the parties aim to further the efficiency and density of next-generation artificial intelligence data centers.
At the core of the collaboration is a new power distribution system, which must distribute massive amounts of power with minimal losses during each voltage conversion, ON Semiconductor said.
ON shares were nearly 2% higher in recent trading, while Nvidia was up about 1.3%.
