Performance Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in tanker vessels, has announced the successful naming and delivery of its first LR2 Aframax newbuilding, M/T P. Massport, constructed at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. This marks the beginning of a series of new tanker deliveries, with two more sister LR2 Aframax vessels expected by early 2026 and an LR1 tanker by early 2027. These vessels are part of the company's strategic fleet expansion plan. The M/T P. Massport, a 114,000 DWT LNG-ready Tier III product/crude oil tanker, is the first of three LNG-ready, scrubber-fitted LR2 Aframax tankers ordered by the company, each securing a five-year charter contract with Clearlake Shipping Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of the Gunvor Group. The vessel operates under a five-year time charter contract at a gross rate of US$31,000 per day, with options for extension.
