European Pharma Shares Fall After Trump Asks For Drug Price Cuts -- Market Talk

0728 GMT - Shares of European pharmaceutical companies fell in early trade after U.S. President Trump sent out letters Thursday asking them to cut the costs of drugs for U.S. customers to the lowest offered in other developed nations.Shares of GSK, AstraZeneca, Novo Nordisk, and Sanofi were down 1.7%, 2.8%, 4.2% and 1.2%, respectively. The Stoxx Europe 600 healthcare index was down 1.8%. The President said he would use "every tool in our arsenal" to protect American families from high prices if companies didn't act voluntarily.
