Riza Chalid has been named a suspect in a corruption case involving crude oil and Pertamina refinery products. Prosecutors have previously summoned him twice for questioning, but he failed to appear without providing any explanation.
Authorities have confirmed that Riza is currently abroad. Immigration records show that he departed Indonesia on February 6, 2025, via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, bound for Malaysia. There has been no record of his return since.
His departure occurred just 18 days before prosecutors arrested his son, Muhammad Kerry Adrianto, on February 24, 2025.
Minister of Immigration and Prisons Agus Andrianto said that Riza Chalid’s passport has been revoked, as he was under a travel ban.
He explained that passport revocation carries serious implications, including the inability to travel internationally, renew visas or residence permits, and the risk of being treated as an illegal immigrant by the host country.
In total, prosecutors have namced 18 suspects in the case, including Riza Chalid and his son. Among them, Riza remains the only suspect who is still at large.
