SKY Perfect JSAT's Number of TV Subscribers Falls in July, Optical Fiber Users Rise

SKY Perfect JSAT Holdings (TYO:9412) reported a decline in pay TV subscribers in July, while its optical fiber-based retransmission service saw continued growth, according to a Monday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

The company posted a net loss of 9,350 SKY PerfecTV! subscribers, bringing the total to about 2.6 million. Its core 110-degree satellite service lost 5,116 users, while the premium service shed 4,234. The overall monthly churn rate stood at 1.8%.

Subscriber contractors dropped by 8,231 to 2 million, while households using optical fiber-based retransmission rose by 9,609 to nearly 2.9 million.
