Green Technology Metals (ASX:GT1) and its South Korean partner, EcoPro Innovation, produced battery-grade lithium hydroxide, meeting benchmarked end-user specifications, from spodumene bulk samples from its Seymour lithium project in Canada, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
Six hundred kilograms of Seymour concentrate were processed through a pilot-scale facility, confirming the EcoPro Innovation process flowsheet and producing overall recoveries averaging over 94%.
The samples were returned to Thunder Bay in Canada for further engagement and talks with offtake partners for those products to determine suitability with further test work.
The company plans to conduct the next phase of test work using ore from its Root lithium project, also located in Canada, once market conditions improve.
Green Technology Metals' shares fell over 6% in recent trading on Thursday.
