据媒体报道，美国政府正筹划在二级市场出售房贷巨头房利美（Fannie Mae）和房地美（Freddie Mac）的股份，并有可能在今年晚些时候启动，潜在募集资金目标达到300亿美元之巨。
一些知情人士表示，美国官员讨论的计划可能会使得两家公司的合并估值达到5000亿美元或更高，并涉及出售5%至15%的股份——顶格计算相当于750亿美元！
目前，官员们也在讨论如何安排募资结构，包括两家抵押贷款巨头是否以一家公司的身份IPO，或继续作为两个独立实体单独上市。
据报道，摩根大通、高盛、摩根士丹利、花旗、富国银行和美国银行的首席执行官近期都曾奔赴白宫，与特朗普会面并讨论“两房”上市的潜在计划。
根据现有统计，目前全球最大IPO是2019年在沙特本土上市的沙特阿美，募集资金规模达294亿美元；美股历史上最大的IPO是2014年的阿里巴巴，募资规模达到250亿美元。这也意味着美国“两房”重新上市有望挑战史上最大IPO。
