一名美国政府高级官员上周五向路透社透露，唐纳德・特朗普政府正计划在今年晚些时候推动房利美和房地美进行首次公开募股（IPO）。
该官员称，此次股权出售可能使房利美和房地美合并后的估值接近 5000 亿美元。
阿克曼持有房利美和房地美的股份已逾十年，他表示，合并还将降低政府监管的成本和风险，因为届时只需联邦住房金融局（Federal Housing Finance Agency）监管一家机构即可。
房利美和房地美由美国国会创立，旨在通过提供可负担的抵押贷款融资来支持住房市场，但在金融危机中遭受重创后陷入困境。
