此前报道，IOTA 联创 Sergey Ivancheglo 的项目 Qubic 通过“有用工作量证明（uPoW）”机制，迅速积累大量门罗币（Monero）算力，8 月 12 日，Qubic 短暂控制了门罗网络 52.72% 的哈希率（约 3.01 GH/s）。一旦超过 51%，Qubic 可以拒绝其他矿池的区块，导致链重组、双花或交易审查。门罗社区已展开抵制和防御行动，Qubic 方面称此举为技术演示，非恶意攻击。
