BlockBeats 消息，8 月 12 日，IOTA 联创 Sergey Ivancheglo 的项目 Qubic 通过“有用工作量证明（uPoW）”机制，迅速积累大量门罗币（Monero）算力，从不到 2% 飙升到 27% 以上，一度成为最大的门罗币矿池。并公开表示目标是达到 51% 以上，以测试网络安全性。
8 月 12 日，Qubic 短暂控制了门罗网络 52.72% 的哈希率（约 3.01 GH/s）。一旦超过 51%，Qubic 可以拒绝其他矿池的区块，导致链重组、双花或交易审查。
