当地时间8月7日，美国科技巨头埃隆・马斯克在社交平台发文称，日本今年将减少近一百万人口。他的这一说法，源于一则显示日本去年死亡人数比出生人数多出约90万的帖文。

他表示，这场当前的日本人口危机已在过去50年中逐步形成，并“与 AI 毫无关系”，但他认为，AI 是扭转这一趋势的“唯一希望”。

据日本共同社8月6日报道，日本总务省公布的人口动态数据显示，截至2025年1月1日，日本总人口为1亿2065万3227人，较上一年减少约90.8万人，降幅达0.75%，创1968年开始统计以来最大年度降幅和减少人数。

另报道，7月中旬，马斯克旗下的人工智能公司xAI推出了“Grok Companion”功能，允许用户与拟人化的虚拟角色进行互动。其中，名为“Ani”的角色是一位具有哥特风格的动漫女孩，该角色近期在日本市场获得了较高的用户关注度。
