三十多年来，陈立武一直投资于中国的经济繁荣，做出了可谓不太费脑筋的投资决定，让全美乃至全球各地的风险资本家和基金经理赚得盆满钵满。

他成立了一家总部位于旧金山的投资公司——华登国际(Walden International)，向逾600家企业投资超过50亿美元。其中超过100项投资在中国进行，包括当时鲜为人知、现已成长为中国最大芯片制造商的中芯国际。他曾在该公司董事会任职十五年。

陈立武在3月被任命为英特尔首席执行官后，当时他同意剥离在华投资。然而，特朗普在社交媒体上发帖称，陈立武“存在严重的利益冲突”，并敦促他辞职。

英特尔回应称，陈立武和董事会“坚定致力于推动美国国家和经济安全利益”，并表示将与政府进一步接触。8月7日晚些时候，陈立武表示他获得了公司董事会的全力支持，这是他首次对特朗普作出回应。他在一份发布在英特尔网站的致员工信中表示：“我们正在与政府接洽，以应对已提出的各项事务，并确保他们掌握事实。”

根据PitchBook的数据，尽管华登国际多年来已投资超过100家中国公司，但其投资规模已有所缩减。该网站显示，华登国际、Walden Catalyst Ventures和Celesta目前仅持有少数几家总部位于中国内地及香港的公司股份。
