Barrick CEO Flags Promise of Fourmile Project in Nevada -- Market Talk

1022 ET - Barrick Mining's CEO plans to highlight to investors later Monday the promise of its Fourmile project, which is poised to double its mineral resource in 2025. "Fourmile is probably the biggest, highest-grade discovery in the industry in a century...perhaps longer," Mark Bristow says in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. The asset is effectively an extension of Barrick's Goldrush operation in Nevada, which continues to ramp up. The company expects to incorporate Fourmile into its majority-owned Nevada Gold Mines joint venture with Newmont, at fair market value. It spent $31 million on the project in the first half, out of an estimated $75 million to $85 million for 2025, with 16 active drill rigs in the latest quarter. (robb.stewart@wsj.com)
