小米创办人、董事长兼CEO雷军8月11日晚间在社交平台接连发文，围绕小米YU7标准版的命名展开讨论。雷军在其个人微博先是发文提到，小米YU7标准版配置强劲，仅续航就达835公里，超越竞品的Pro版或Max版，绝非 “丐版”，并向网友征求意见是否将其改名为Pro或Max版。 随后他又发文进一步解释称，小米YU7标准版，很多人误以为是入门版或者丐版，但实际上非常强大，续航高达835公里，700 Tops算力的Thor芯片和激光雷达等等，配置绝不输于竞品Pro版和Max版。 对此，雷军还发起了网络投票，截至目前，已经有1.7万人参与。其中有1.2万人赞成“低调一些，继续叫标准版”，占据多数；而少数人则赞成：“对产竞品，直接叫Pro或Max版”。
