BlockBeats 消息，8 月 12 日，Circle 披露稳定币 Layer1 区块链 ARC 细节，除使用 USDC 稳定币作为原生 Gas 代币外，将在今年秋季推出公共测试网，并与 EVM 兼容。目标为稳定币支付、外汇和资本市场应用提供企业级基础。Circle 表示，还将引入包括稳定币外汇引擎、亚秒级结算和选择加入隐私功能，同时与 Circle 平台完全集成并保持与其他合作伙伴区块链的互操作性。
Circle 此举意在抗衡其头号对手 Tether，Tether 已积极参与两个稳定币 Layer1 区块链的开发和支持： Stable 与 Plasma。在当前约 2600 亿美元的稳定币市场中，Circle 占据 650 亿美元的市场份额，而 Tether 占据约 1650 亿美元。
