OD6 Metals (ASX:OD6) said it produced a mixed rare earth carbonate of around 56% grade total rare earth oxides via a simplified and scalable heap leach and impurity removal process flowsheet as part of metallurgical testing for the Splinter Rock rare earths project in Western Australia, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.

It also produced mixed rare earth hydroxide of around 59% grade total rare earth oxides using the same process but utilizing sodium hydroxide to precipitate the saleable product.

The firm brought CPC Engineering to conduct an optioneering study to evaluate the multiple technically viable flowsheets.

It is engaging with potential offtake partners to assess commercial payability options.
