StarHub's (SGX:CC3) attributable profit to owners was down 42% during the first half of the year to SG$47.9 million from SG$82.1 million a year earlier, according to a Thursday filing with the Singapore Exchange.
Earnings per share dropped to SG$0.025 compared with SG$0.045 in the comparable period. Analysts from Visible Alpha had estimated earnings per share of SG$0.04 for the period.
Total revenue was up 2.2% year over year to SG$1.13 billion from SG$1.10 billion. Analysts from Visible Alpha had estimated a revenue of SG$1.19 for the period.
The group declared an interim dividend of SG$0.03 per share for the period, unchanged from a year earlier.
